Guest Judge, Metalist Max Maven's Book: Prism

While a sizable literature devoted to mentalism was produced in the past hundred years, little has stood the test of time. Among the scant amount that has is that of MAX MAVEN.

Writing under the name of Phil Goldstein, MAVEN has created one of the largest, cleverest and most influential bodies of work in the field, stretching from the latter part of the twentieth century into the twenty-first. His star rose early, with the publication of five slim collections, each packed with innovative and performance-caliber mentalism. More on Max Maven

Celebra Cadabra Reality Magic Show on VH1

Performing magic is getting a reality show twist over on Vh1 with Celebra Cadabra. Celebra Cadabra is a reality show in which stars are teamed up with professional magicians who teach them how to perform different magic tricks, magical effects and illusions. Each week the celebrities learn a different type of magic and a celebrity magician is voted out and literally disappears from the show. Celebra Cadabra is filmed at the world famous Magic Castle in California. Tune into VH1 Sunday nights to see which celebrity will become the ultimate celebrity magician.

Street Magic, Children's Magic, Comedy Magic, Cabaret Magic, Strolling Magic, Phobia Magic -- our celebs do it (or at least attempt to do it) all. Their work will be judged by a panel of 3 superstar magicians. Each week, one of the celebrities will be eliminated, until the final two battle it out in Las Vegas for our Grand Illusion finale.

The celebrity "magic students" appearing on the show are: Singer: Carnie Wilson, Comedian: Ant, Actor: C. Thomas Howel, Rapper: Chris "Play" Reid, Actress & Comedienne: Lisa Ann Walter, Actor & Comedian: Hal Sparks, and Pussycat Doll: Kimberly Wyatt.

The show features magicians that are celebrities in their own right: Judge: Jeff McBride, Host & Judge: Jonathan Levit, Judge: Max Maven, Magicians: Murray SawChuck, Simon Lovell, Derek Hughes, David Regal, Silly Billy, and Rocco Silano.

Each week the celebrities are taught magic tricks and illusions that you can learn too! Check out Wizards Apprentice Magic Shop to find the same tricks from the show and stay tuned to the blog for details!
